The Fraser Family

This family currently lives in northern Minnesota. They have been involved in full-time ministry in Native North America since 1993 and continue to have the privilege of meeting, working with, and alongside First Nations people in Canada and the US – sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, and encouraging each other in our walk with Him. It’s our desire that many will come to know Him as their Savior and grow strong in Him.

Their music includes fiddles, banjos, mandolins, harmonicas, and resonator and

acoustic bass guitars; along with their sweet voices they bring beautiful bluegrass music alive.

More information can be found on their website: www.frasernotes.com

A pastor’s wife & two farmer’s daughters have joined together in word and song, to form the Joyful Melody Trio since October of 2002. The trio consists of Colleen Durocher (soprano/lead) from Morinville, Cari Blum (alto/lead) and Joyce Dietrich (contralto) from Barrhead, Alberta, Canada. They sing harmonies with a Southern Gospel flavour, sharing their music & ministry with many charitable organizations, prisons, jamborees, conferences, seniors’ functions & many other events hosted by churches from various denominations all across Western Canada. They have released 3 recordings, which have helped to establish their commitment to this

calling. On many occasions, Joyce has been asked to share her touching personal story, which testifies to the power of prayer & God’s great faithfulness. With a love for music, but most importantly for our heavenly Father, the Trio desire to be labourers in His harvest, as they encourage & challenge those who listen to their music & ministry, to a deeper walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. They are thrilled to be a part of this event and look forward to meeting each and everyone. Joyfully yours, Cari, Colleen & Joyce.

Abe Penner

Abe Penner is a singer-songwriter from Grunthal, Manitoba. His songs are from the heart and touch all our lives. Abe will be joined by equally brilliant songwriter-musician Hank Neufeld.

The songs are chosen to encourage those who are devoted in the faith

of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is also my hope that if there are those who are struggling or maybe not sure of where they are in the faith that they would be encouraged. I would also pray that those who do not know Jesus as their Savior would see His wonderful grace.

My prayer has always been that the message in each song would remind the

listener of the values of life in Jesus Christ and in our relationship to one another that seem to be diminishing in our society today.

"The essence of joy in a Christian's life is to share your faith."

Jayme Giesbrecht

Jayme Giesbrecht has loved hymns and classic gospel music as long as she can remember. She grew up singing hymns in the congregation at church, and as soon as she started piano lessons, wanted to learn to play hymns as well.

Jayme sang her first special number in church at age 11, when she asked Linda Dueck to accompany her on piano, and they became a ministry team ever since. Jayme and Linda have been blessed to bring their music ministry to a variety of events such as fundraisers, weddings, funerals, festivals, and have opened for some of Southern Gospel's best, including the Booth Brothers, Legacy Five, and Sweet Presence. "It's an honor to serve the Lord, and use our musical gifts for HIS glory".

Rising Above Band

The Rising Above Band came together in 2001 when Howard Jolly asked

Rick Martin and Terry and Brenda Martin to back him up for some music he was doing at a Rising Above conference. Soul Purpose

Soul Purpose had its beginnings in 2002, and by 2005, developed into an 8 member combo of vocalists/musicians from southern Manitoba. Through a refreshing mix of original, contemporary, and classic Christian praise and cover songs set to a blend of various musical styles including upbeat gospel, classic rock, contemporary praise, and reflective ballads, we pray that our love for the Lord and the song He has given us will be communicated clearly through our words, music, and heart attitude. It is our joy to be a part of a variety of events and venues including praise and worship evenings, fundraisers, celebrations, banquets, outdoor concerts, fairs, community and church events. In 2007, we put our schedules and musical creativity together in

the studio, and the resulting mix of original and cover songs on our debut CD* released in November, 2007 truly reflect and expand what we are all about. Since then we are humbled time and again to hear the stories of how God has used our music to lift up and encourage the listener. This is God's answer to our prayers and a source of affirmation as we continue to seek to honour Him! The many opportunities to be part of promoting a message of faith, hope, and love, and your continued support and encouragement all along the way make all the difference.

To God be the glory!

Their hope is that their ministry will encourage you to love the Lord more and share His love with others. The Johnson family resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba and they have been attending Grant Memorial Baptist Church for over 25 years.

The Glencross Quartet

We are very pleased to include the Glencross Quartet in our program this year. The group has sung for many years and comes to us from the Morden and Winkler area. They will be accompanied by Laura Letkeman with Art Letkeman and John Zacherias. It is your humble host's opinion that they are the finest active quartet in Manitoba.

Gary Brown & Lynda Rose Toews

LyndaRose & Gary (LyndaRose Toews & Gary Brown) met at the Transcona Legion bluegrass jam in Winnipeg in late 2006 and became musical friends. Over time they found themselves gravitating not only to each other, but also to the gospel music they each grew up with. It is music from the heart that is often filled with stories of hard times and loss of loved ones, but not without bright hope for the afterlife. These themes resonate with LyndaRose & Gary and many of their songs express this faith and hope such as Canaan’s Land and Go Rest High. They play the music of artists such as Ricky Skaggs, The Isaacs, Doyle Lawson, Vince Gill, The Sullivans, The Easters, and The National Bluegrass Band.

Never intending to become a performing act, they were invited to replace a cancelled gospel band at a Birtle music festival in spring 2008, and performed in public for the first time with Gary on guitar and vocals and LyndaRose on upright bass and harmony vocals. That year, learning to sing was a new endeavor for Gary, and playing bass was new for LyndaRose. Since then they have been invited to play at festivals, churches, coffeehouses, house concerts, weddings, and senior’s centers. Interestingly, they are often the only bluegrass band at gospel festivals, and the only gospel band at bluegrass festivals.

LyndaRose & Gary married in July 2010 and now reside in La Broquerie, Manitoba.
